CHICAGO,IL– (April 25, 2013) Cartoon Lagoon Studios announce the premiere Chicago screening of their Award-winning TV show, “Captain Cornelius’ Cartoon Lagoon”, Sunday, April 28th 3:00-3:45pm (Room W473) at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) at McCormick Place.
An innovative and original show created by the industry’s top creators for children’s cartoons, commercials and cable television programming, the show features some noteworthy talent from: Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, The Disney Channel, The Jim Henson Company, Marvel Comics, Archie Comics, WB Animation, MTV and Spike TV.
In attendance (at booth 863 in the West Building) will be the show’s Executive Producer Pat Giles.
Pat Giles was the Art Director for Disney’s “Stanley” series on The Disney Channel, and worked on hundreds of episodes of television on six other TV shows, including “Disney’s Doug,” and MTV’s “Daria.” Giles also co-founded the indie-comics publisher Monkeysuit Press, featuring his TPB comic collection “The Big Problem With Marshall.” At the convention, he will give out an exclusive copy of Cartoon Lagoon Studios new comic book ”Dober-Man and Pigeon” – free with purchase of Cartoon Lagoon DVD. They’ll also be selling designer vinyls and plush toys of Manny Galán’s “Dookie-Poo” collection.
Although “Captain Cornelius’ Cartoon Lagoon” on DVD has been out on the market and highly publicized for a year, filmmaker and popular comic book writer Kevin Smith recently released “Kevin Smith’s Cartoon Lagoon” on iTunes with a very similar premise and title. Cartoon Lagoon Studios are fans of Kevin Smith, but want consumers to know that they are not the same product.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Captain Cornelius is voiced by voiceover legend Chris Phillips (‘Face’ on Nick Jr, Felix the Cat: The Movie, Ice Age, Team Umizoomi, Disney’s Doug and in is the voice of every Network on-air promo, ever, it seems). Others are: Director Euralis Weekes (MTV/NICK veteran), head writer Steve Borst (MAD, Teen Titans, GO! and Breadwinners), puppeteers Michael Schupbach (creator of Johnny and the Sprites), Noel MacNeal (Bear of “Bear in the Big Blue House,) and Frankie Cordero (Avenue Q).
Packed with fun, good memories and laughter, the DVD features include:
Episode One (32 minutes), a 90-minute bonus show, “Captain Cornelius Cartoon’s Cartoon All-Star Revue,” skits, classic cartoons, new cartoons (Superjail Director Mike Carlo’s animated short President of the Universe and Gabe Swarr’s Life in the Analog Age shorts), musical guests, The Gregory Brothers, and special guest star interview, Butch Hartman (creator of Fairly OddParents).
