NYCC 2011: Hasbro Preview Night Thoughts

While ASM wasn’t at Hasbro’s Preview Night yesterday (congrats to the lucky ones who were!), that doesn’t mean we didn’t go searching the net for pictures of what was on display. Here’s a quick smattering of thoughts from me.

Transformers
From TFormers.com’s gallery (see it here), I think I’m most psyched about Cyberverse. I used to hate having characters in multiple size-classes. It ruined scale, plus it meant that in my completist days, I had to buy the same character over and over. Well, my completist days are over, and now I love the idea of Cyberverse. If you are strapped for cash or space, Cyberverse is a great way to get the characters you like without having to spend a lot of money. Toys like Cyberverse Powerglide are what I like about this smaller class size. Hopefully that now they’ve got a few waves under their collective belts, Hasbro can make Prime Cyberverse even better.

Marvel
In case you hadn’t heard, there’s this movie called The Avengers coming out. And the new toys look great! ToyArk has some pics. Facial scuplts seem pretty spot-on in most places. Can’t wait to see these on shelves.

GI Joe
Big Bad Toy Store announced their new GI Joe 7-pack exclusives. Sgt. Slaughter’s Mauraders and the Dreadnoks are now available for pre-order at $49.99 each or $89.99 for both. Click here to pre-order. And no, we don’t get any piece of that sale, so you’re welcome.

Star Wars
Looking at Galactic Hunter’s pics, I think my favorite is the Jedi Force Jabba. He’s so cute! Also, the cute little vehicles, especially the AT-AT, shoudl be great for kids and kids-at-heart. As for the Phantom Menace figures? Eh. Can’t get too worked up about those.

We’ll have more thoughts on NYCC over the next few days, and hopefully we’ll have pics from the show floor this weekend!
