Hasbro Unveils Transformers 35th Anniversary “More Than Meets The Eye” Campaign

TRANSFORMERS is 35 years old this year.  In fact, today marks the 35th anniversary of what could be the first print ad for the robots in disguise.  Thirty-five years is a lot of robots, a lot of battles, a lot of fun — and Hasbro wants to celebrate all that encompasses the brand. The kick-off features Angela Bassett, the voice of SHATTER from BUMBLEBEE, in the video you can see embedded below.  Future videos will showcase creators, celebrities, and others involved throughout all of Transformers history.  Hasbro, in the press release shown below, invites fans to post their own videos

Hasbro and ASICS Team Up for New GI Joe Shoes at Foot Locker

Friday morning, Hasbro and ASCIS announced a new partnership.  I admit, I wasn’t surprised that a deal was made to create shoes and apparel featuring a Hasbro brand; that’s nothing new.  It’s a way to get a Hasbro property out into the world past the toy room or aisle.  I was extremely surprised when I heard that the property in question is GI Joe. Unfortunately, the Joe line has seen better days.  There’s been no new retail product in a long time, the convention had its last hurrah last year, and the club is starting to wind down operations.  It’s

Toy Fair 2019 – Hasbro – Power Rangers

When word came out that Hasbro had bought the Power Rangers line from Saban, you could hear the collective gasp on the Internet.  This was a big move for Hasbro.  And they are fully committed to bring a diverse set of toy lines for the Power Rangers fans. Bringing over an unseen-in-the-US series of Super Sentai, the popular Go-Busters, as “Beast Morphers” was heralded as a fantastic move.  And now we are seeing how Hasbro will support the show with toys. Fans of other Power Rangers teams need not fear, though, because the Lightning Collection will bring in characters across

Toy Fair 2019 – Hasbro Star Wars

With Episode IX and “The Mandalorian” hitting the big and small screens later this year, there wasn’t anything on display at Toy Fair for these anticipated parts of the Star Wars universe.  However, there was some news — new retro style figures!  Exclusive to Target, these figures are the old Kenner figures — well, save for Tarkin, as he’s a new figure in the retro style!  Also new is the 8″ scale Hyperreal line of figures.  The first one is everyone’s favorite Dark Lord of the Sith – Darth Vader. Toy Fair 2019 – Hasbro Marvel – Toy Biz Retro

Oh, wow, toy collectors from the 80’s and 90’s will definitely remember the name “Toy Biz”.  These were the entry way to Marvel toys for so many of us, with their bright bold packaging and unique figure stylings.  I usually saved my money for Transformers, but I was known to bring home a Toy Biz or two in my day. Well, that day has returned, because Hasbro is bringing back Toy Biz packaging and figure look this year.  These are stunning.  These look like they stepped out of the past and into our collections.  I’m impressed, Hasbro.  Pictures by Steve

Toy Fair 2019 – Hasbro Marvel – Spider-Man

Ah, Spider-Man.  My all-time favorite superhero, ever since I was a kid.  I watched reruns of the 60’s cartoon religiously. I eagerly awaited the Raimi movies. And when I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming, I had a smile on my face the entire time.  So to say I can’t wait for Spider-Man: Far from Home is an understatement. Thankfully, I’ll have these new toys to tide me over until Tom Holland is back in the starring role later this year.  Take a look! Pictures by Steve Kushnir
