Rebelscum.com has some pictures of Star Wars Deluxe Mini-Rigs. Holy man, these things are awesome, especially the Speeder Bike looking thing. Hasbro? More please!

… kinda bad. At least in the robot mode. Take a look at it. That chest is horrible — there’s too much white, the blue logo looks like a crayon scratching, and why they separated the Autobot logo from it, I have no idea. Ugh, I can’t look at that chest without getting upset by it. It could’ve been a lot better. However, the rest of the toy isn’t that bad. Thunderclash should have clashing colors, and this version doesn’t disappoint. I like the different uses of paint masks, although I miss the translucent pink from the G1 toy. Definitely
Continue readingBotCon 2009 Figure 4 – Flak
Flak has been revealed. He’s a recolor of Cybertron Defense Scattorshot, with a remolded head. I love this figure. This color scheme is great. The red stands out against the white and grey arctic camo, but it doesn’t overpower the figure. In fact, in a way, it makes it look like there’s more red than there actually is. I know people will complain about this mold still being on the shelves in some form or another (Universe Dropshot, Overload), but sometimes, these things can’t be helped. I wouldn’t be surprised if the choice for this mold was made long before
Continue readingWhy Did I Not Look At These Before?
So, my fiancee and I were out at Toys R Us this weekend. Actually, we hit four different ones in a 24 hour period, but that’s a different story. At the first one, we happened to notice the new Marvel Universe 3 3/4″ figures. Why did I not pay more attention to these before? These things are awesome! Yeah, the larger size of Marvel Legends figures means more detail, but man, these suckers look extremely playable. Plus, the smaller size might mean the ability for more characters, especially if they take a book out of G.I. Joe and Star Wars

You asked, they answered. Here is the March 2009 batch of Q&A from Hasbro’s Transformers Team. ASM Will be posted when Hasbro provides an answer to ASM. Have you determined how Devastator will be packaged? Will he be in robot mode or vehicle mode? — Baltmatrix Devastator will be packed out in his combined robot mode. Not sure if you guys know anything about this at all, but are you at liberty to discuss the announced and immediately canceled third wave of the 3-D Battle Card Game? If so, can you give us any info whatsoever? If not, is there
Continue readingAnd BotCon ’09 Toy #3 Is….
… Landshark! It’s based on Landmine from the Energon line, a toy I think I played with once or twice before needing to put him away because of space reasons. (Aside: I can’t wait to get a house.) If I remember correctly, it was a nifty toy. As for Landshark, I like it. If you want a comparison to the actual animal, I can see the angular lines to give it a shark look. I love the blue plastic used in the visor as it complements the green and orange. As for the motto… seems kind of meta, actually. Not
Continue readingPrice Drop on Transformers Deluxe Figures
I just received a Target catalog in the mail. On page 34, they show Transformers Animated Blurr next to the words “TRANSFORMERS DELUXE FIGURE”. The price is indicated as a Temporary Price Cut of $8.99. The fine print on the back of the catalog says the prices are good March 3 through April 5, 2009. Seems like a good time to pick up some more Deluxe TFs. The blurb mentions “straight from the animated series”, which might indicate it’s for Animated toys only; perhaps Universe will get in on the sale prices as well. They also show two LEGO toys
