Hasbro Unveils Transformers 35th Anniversary “More Than Meets The Eye” Campaign

TRANSFORMERS is 35 years old this year.  In fact, today marks the 35th anniversary of what could be the first print ad for the robots in disguise.  Thirty-five years is a lot of robots, a lot of battles, a lot of fun — and Hasbro wants to celebrate all that encompasses the brand. The kick-off features Angela Bassett, the voice of SHATTER from BUMBLEBEE, in the video you can see embedded below.  Future videos will showcase creators, celebrities, and others involved throughout all of Transformers history.  Hasbro, in the press release shown below, invites fans to post their own videos

It Is The Year 2014… and I’m Listening To New Vince DiCola Music

Sure, it’s been almost 30 years since the original animated The Transformers: The Movie appeared in theaters, and it’s been almost 30 years since the Transformers fandom was introduced to the music of Vince DiCola. Transformers 4 Gets a Title and Teaser Poster

Yahoo! Movies unveiled the teaser poster for Transformers 4 and revealed what the full title will be.  Behold, TRANSFORMERS 4: AGE OF EXTINCTION! I like it! The article goes on to speculate on what that means.  A/K/A – the Dinobots.  I’m intrigued by how the Dinobots will be reimagined for the movie-universe, but I am a bit wary.  After all, I’m not exactly a fan of how there can be robotic dinosaurs on Cybertron….

Another Day, Another “Transformers 4” Vehicle Reveal

Meet Hound! Hound is described as “always rugged and reliable” and is “one of the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles from Oshkosh Defense.” ASM Thoughts: Interesting.  Hound has been a Jeep/Jeep-like vehicle since his G1 days, so to see him has a huge military truck is a bit of a departure.  I was thinking more Bulkhead than Hound, actually.  It will be interesting to see what characterization he will have. Transformers 4 Production Reveals Yet Another Autobot

Michael Bay showed the world yet another redesigned Autobot from the upcoming Transformers 4 movie.  He’s been several types of Camaro’s already, but Bumblebee is going old school once again, as a “highly modified, vintage 1967 Camaro SS.” ASM Thoughts: I like it, although it’s weird to see movie Bumblebee as a mostly black vehicle (countless toy redecos notwithstanding.)
