EW.com Shows a… Unique Take on Venom

This week, EW.com posted a very unique unofficial fan-film featuring Venom, the symbiote-wearing Spider-Man villain.  Starring Ryan Kwanten of HBO’s “True Blood” (and sporting a New York accent, once again convincingly disguising his Australian-origins), this film is a different take on the character.  It purports to be a documentary by a French film team, detailing Eddie Brock’s investigative journalism into the seedy world of New York crime.  But, as you can expect, Eddie shows off his partner during the course of this “found footage”. Toy Review: Transformers Club Figure – Depth Charge

The 2013 Transformers Club Figure is a reimagining of the fierce bounty hunter from “Beast Wars” – Depth Charge.  This incarnation is starring in the club’s 2013 comic story “Beast Wars Shattered Glass”, and while he no longer transformers into a manta ray, he still is very reminiscent of the now 15 year old toy.  Depth Charge is now a fighter jet armed with a polearm weapon that can be either a spear or trident.  As with all club figures, he is based off another toy; in this case, a redeco of Terradive. “It’s not revenge I’m looking for; it’s justice.”

Scholastic comes to ComiXology

As part of their San Diego Comic-Con 2013 announcements, ComiXology sent over this press release regarding another new distribution agreement.  Scholastic is bringing kid-friendly titles to the digital comics world.
