About Cosplay Chicago:

Cosplay Chicago started with two costumers who thought it a novel idea to have a social portal for local costumers to share ideas, plans and photos from their convention experiences. The Facebook group formed in March 2011, for all those that shared the enjoyment of costuming and cosplay.

As the group grew beyond its Chicagoland borders, so did the desire to evolve into more. In August of 2012 the Cosplay Chicago Facebook page launched in an effort to organize, brand, and ultimately manage official Cosplay Chicago events. Under Paul Heid- Creative Director, Nyq Bonaventura- Media Director, and Bill Higa- Relations Director, Cosplay Chicago re-branded as a collective of artists collaborating to produce creative media via costuming, cosplaying, video production, live appearances, and other social and charitable events.

Some of our 2013 initiatives have included, movie meet-ups, web-series development, and costumed karaoke.
