Toy Fair 2019 – Hasbro Marvel – Spider-Man

Ah, Spider-Man.  My all-time favorite superhero, ever since I was a kid.  I watched reruns of the 60’s cartoon religiously. I eagerly awaited the Raimi movies. And when I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming, I had a smile on my face the entire time.  So to say I can’t wait for Spider-Man: Far from Home is an understatement. Thankfully, I’ll have these new toys to tide me over until Tom Holland is back in the starring role later this year.  Take a look! Pictures by Steve Kushnir

Another Open Letter to Dan Slott

[Spoilers for The Superior Spider-Man #31, and, well, heck, the entire series.] Hey, Dan, I know, it’s been a while since we last talked.  Don’t worry, I didn’t forget you or my promise to see where The Superior Spider-Man went.  Things just have gotten busy for me.  In these past sixteen months, a lot has happened.  I’ve had a kid, I’ve lost sleep, I’ve lost some sanity (the latter two thanks to the first event).  But I’ve still been reading SSM, anticipating the big day when Mental Ghost Peter would take back control from Otto. And then you had Otto erase Peter early on

Truly, Funko’s Coulson is the Pop! Vinyl You Need AND Deserve (oh, and Spidey, too)

Funko just sent over some new images of upcoming Pop! Vinyl figures and Wacky Wobblers.  While I’m a Spider-Man fan through and through, obviously, the big news is that Agent Phil Coulson is going to be a Pop! Vinyl figure. Shut up and take my money, Funko. And as I mentioned, straight from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Pop! Vinyl and Wacky Wobblers of Spider-Man and Electro (the Electro Bobblehead glows in the dark!)

EW.com Shows a… Unique Take on Venom

This week, EW.com posted a very unique unofficial fan-film featuring Venom, the symbiote-wearing Spider-Man villain.  Starring Ryan Kwanten of HBO’s “True Blood” (and sporting a New York accent, once again convincingly disguising his Australian-origins), this film is a different take on the character.  It purports to be a documentary by a French film team, detailing Eddie Brock’s investigative journalism into the seedy world of New York crime.  But, as you can expect, Eddie shows off his partner during the course of this “found footage”. Take a look below.  Would you like to see this expanded into a stand-alone film, outside

An Open Letter to Dan Slott

[Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #698-700 and The Superior Spider-Man #1.] Dear Dan, (Can I call you Dan?  The only reason I ask is that these open letters usually start that way, with the writer asking if it’s okay to be on a first-name basis with the recipient. And I hate to buck a trend.) You probably know why I’m writing.  I’m writing because you have thoroughly desecrated, trashed, maimed, and destroyed Spider-Man.  Trust me — even before I read The Amazing Spider-Man #700, I knew you had done it.  Heck, I didn’t even need to read #698 to know that you were the

Like Marvel Movies? You’re In Luck For At Least Three Years

Let’s see here… Iron Man 2 – May 7, 2010 Spider-Man 4 – May 6, 2011 Thor – June 17, 2011 The First Avenger: Captain America – July 22, 2011 The Avengers – May 4, 2012 What this does is push Thor from a June 2010 release out one year, and give Marvel a 3-picture punch in 2011. Sounds good to me. In unrelated news, though, this still doesn’t mean that I get Fanboys near me any time soon….
