After months of waiting, with J.J. Abrams giving out information excruciatingly slowly so as to increase anticipation, Stark Trek Into Darkness finally arrived in theaters this past weekend. The previous movie in the Trek-reboot universe was hugely successful, and this new installment had the chance to top it and provide an even more entertaining experience. But did it? [SPOILERS]

(Original Subheader: SO AWESOME!!! Wait… hold up… did I just see that, let me think…. Oh… wait.. not as awesome as I thought! *GASP*) Ok gang, so it’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed a film, and yes you’ve probably read a million reviews on this film. But this one is FULL of SPOILERS, cursing, and full on hate for this film, so consider yourself WARNED! Overall I give Iron Man 3 a C- …. Yes that’s right, a C-. Forget the fact that this movie made $700 Million so far, REMEMBER it

[Last week, friend of ASM Jay Wahl was able to attend an advance screening of Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing. He wrote this special report for ASM.] Much Ado About Something Most of us reading this are familiar with Joss Whedon through many of his sci-fi ventures: “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Dollhouse,” “Firefly” and Serenity, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog,” Alien: Resurrection, Cabin In The Woods, and The Avengers, just to name… well, most of them. Back in 2011, Joss decided, at the urging of his wife, that he should finally pursue his dream project. This is where the plan for filming his

See the preview at http://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/19-812/Star-Wars-1 So, when I walked into my local comic shop (Neptune Comics – give them a try! I don’t make money by linking them; they’re just good people.), I wasn’t sure I was going to buy “Star Wars” #1. I knew the story — this takes place shortly after Episode IV, and it could be a continuity mess by treading in the waters of the established “Expanded Universe”. However, after I decided to pick it up, I jokingly told the owner, “Well, they can’t screw it up any more! And they may just burn it clean

Hollow Earth is an upcoming children’s novel by authors John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman. The book is scheduled for release in the United States on October 30, 2012 but was released in the United Kingdom in February of 2012. If you think you may recognize the names of the authors, you are probably correct. IDW’s digital-only Transformers: Autocracy is headed towards the meat of its story, and the pieces of the plot are becoming more apparent. Last issue saw Optimus ambushed the Decepticons, but they only wanted to bring him to Megatron for a talk. Let’s see who’s in a talking mood…

This past weekend, my wife and I went to see The Hunger Games, the action-packed adaptation of the first book of Suzanne Collins’ ultra-successful book trilogy. Starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katiness Everdeen, the movie follows her as she leaves her home to take part in a cruel and highly political game of survival. Thoughts Having read the first book several months ago, I knew what to expect from this movie, although I was curious how they would handle the story. The book is told entirely from Katniss’ first-person point-of-view, so unless they used an inner (or outer) monologue, details would
