Part time ASM reporter, full-time Transformers Wiki Guru Extraordinaire Matthew Karpowich was at Toy Fair this past weekend and ended up at the Jakks Pacific booth, and he thought we would like these pictures of their Mega Man offerings. “Mega Man Fully Charged” is the name of the toy line. Mega Man himself comes with his normal buster, but if you buy other toys in the line, you can use their busters to transform and upgrade Mega Man! It’s a great play pattern that really mimics the video game. Pictures by Matthew Karpowich

Toy Fair 2019 – NECA – Miscellaneous
Finally for NECA, have a few miscellaneous pictures from their booth including “The Golden Girls”, Marvel, DC, and music! Pictures by Steve and Penelope Kushnir
Continue readingToy Fair 2019 – NECA – Alien, Predator, Horror, Other Movie Figures
NECA has done great work with their movie figures over the past few years. The likeness of actresses and actors is fantastic, the detail is stunning, and the fans love them. This year, NECA had on display a variety of figures from various movie lines. First, in the Alien and Predator universe(s), we have a variety of the, well, Aliens and Predators. (It’s late, my writing is suffering.) Horror movies are also a huge portion of NECA’s portfolio. On display were Friday the 13th, It, Halloween, Bride of Chucky and more! As for other movies, check out figures from Gremlins,

We begin our NECA coverage with everybody’s favorite young tortoise warriors — Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! On display were figures for both the original 1980’s cartoon and the original 1989 live action movie! These are my turtles. I watched the cartoon, I saw the first movie, this is my jam. Or, rather, ooze. Not to take away from later cartoons, but this is where my mind goes when someone says the letters T-M-N-T. (T-U-R-T-L-E Power). Pictures by Steve and Penelope Kushnir

And finally from Super7, we have the stuff I couldn’t organize into other folders. Toxic Crusaders, Ren and Stimpy, M.U.S.C.L.E., Voltron, Aliens and a Mr. Met Super Bucket. Again, I don’t know what the Super Buckets really are for…. Pictures by Steve and Penelope Kushnir

Want to get my attention? Show me Transformers that look like Action Masters! These ReAction figures look like the 2019 update of the original G1 action figure line up, and I can’t wait to see these in person! The intent of the Action Masters was to provide cartoon styled poseable action figures, and these seem to do the same. Granted, we don’t have transforming weapons/partners like we did with the Action Masters; something tells me Hasbro wouldn’t like that. I’m kind of reminded by the Heroes of Cybertron vinyl figure line from fifteen years ago, but these look to be

Super7’s ReAction Figures to me are kind of like Funko — you never know what license might pop up. I mean, for goodness sake, we’re getting Rocky IV figures — including the robot! Beavis and Butthead, Street Fighter 2, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, Robocop, Teen Wolf, baseball, Metropolis… it’s amazing the diversity! So getting that robot and displaying it next to my Rocky IV soundtrack by Vince DiCola…. Pictures by Steve and Penelope Kushnir

When Super7 announced they had gotten the Masters of the Universe license from Mattel, the fandom was split. Mattel giving up their own creation? Would Super7 screw it up? And then there were some who said that Mattel had screwed it up, this could only be better. Truth be told, I don’t know if Super7 is doing a better job than Mattel or not. What I do know is that MOTU fans are getting new toys this year, and that’s a good thing. From classic style to ReAction figures, to a new frigging Space Mountain — well, that’s all good!
Continue readingToy Fair 2019 – The Loyal Subjects
The Loyal Subjects has been one of our favorite companies to visit over the past few Toy Fairs. Their diverse line of vinyl figures is always fun to look at. This year, they displayed their latest Masters of the Universe figures, and they also had their Ghostbusters line for show. That’s gotta be one of the cutest demon dogs ever. Finalizing our McFarlane Coverage, we have Labyrinth, My Hero Academia and Naruto Shippuden. Also of note, they announced Harry Potter toys, but photographs were not allowed. DC toys were also announced but not on display. Pictures by Steve and Penelope Kushnir
