NAME: Dinobot Slug ALLEGIANCE: Autobot ALTERNATE MODE: Triceratops CLASS: Deluxe SERIES: M4: #003 CO-SELLS: Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Scorn This fiery warrior hates taking orders, unless it means he gets to destroy something. He’ll level anything in his path with a fit of white-hot dino rage. Ah, poor Slag — got caught in the vortex of Trademark Loss. But since this isn’t the Generation 1 character, having a new name isn’t such a bad thing. (Never mind the fact we’re getting a G1-decoed minicon Slug at some point….) The Dinobots in the new film are unlike the Dinobots of old. No longer

Toy Review: “Transformers: Age of Extinction” Deluxe Drift
NAME: Autobot Drift ALLEGIANCE: Autobot ALTERNATE MODE: Bugatti Veyron Grand Vitesse CLASS: Deluxe SERIES: M4: #006 CO-SELLS: Strafe, Dinobot Slash AUTOBOT DRIFT used to fight for the DECEPTICONS. Now, he wields his swords against them, alongside the heroic AUTOBOTS! When I first saw Drift at Toy Fair 2014, I was unimpressed. Part of it was my lack of affinity for the Generation 1 new character that was introduced a few years ago. Part of it was his goofy head design. After getting the toy and playing around with it for a while, I admit it – my opinion’s changed. This

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo hit the Windy City again this past weekend, and ASM once again had a great time! This is the fifth annual C2E2 show, and we’re proud to have been at every one of them. When the show first started in 2010, it was a much smaller affair, one that we easily could see in a day. But the show showed promise of growth, and boy did it grow. By 2012, we decided it was large enough to warrant a weekend trip, and our instincts were proven right. Each year C2E2 has been bigger and better,

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo hit the Windy City again this past weekend, and ASM once again had a great time! One of the booths we spent a lot of time at was that of Anovos. When we had seen pictures appear that showed they had new Star Wars costumes, we knew we had to have a talk. You see, here at ASM, we love costuming and we love Star Wars costumes. We have costumes, we are members of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion, and we have made many great friends through those organizations. So, now Anovos is going to make high-end Star

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo hit the Windy City again this past weekend, and ASM once again had a great time! We love costuming here at ASM, but unfortunately we didn’t get to see as many costumes as we would have liked, since we were only at the show on Saturday. Still, we enjoyed what we saw, and we hope to spend more time at the show next year. Here are some of our favorites from Saturday.

One of the more interesting interactive booths we saw was for the Kosart Atelier School for Entertainment Arts . This school teaches all aspects of effects art, including make-up, mask making and resin bust making. Their display not only had some examples of their work, but artists were busy sculpting right in front of you. They even were applying makeup and mask effects to people (although I’m not sure if they were con attendees or other artists.) Had time allowed I could have stayed at their booth for hours. Check out the pictures!

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo hit the Windy City again this past weekend, and ASM once again had a great time! One of the places we made sure to see was Diamond Select Toys. Although we missed Zach Oat while we were there, we got some great pictures of the display! On hand were some awesome new Minimates, including the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates, TMNT banks were also on display, as was a battle damaged Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man bank.

Most of you hadn’t heard of BMOG Toys until their Kickstarter went live last week. If you still are unaware, BMOG Toys is a new project headed by Trent Troop, Alex Androski, and Greg Sepelak, and the goal is to provide 5mm peg compatible accessories for a variety of toylines. These accessories are animals that are made entirely out of individual weapons, meaning you get weapons for your existing toys as well as a new animal toy. It’s awesome. You should back it. As I said, most of you hadn’t heard of BMOG until recently. So let’s step behind the
