Funko Proves There’s Always a Sharknado in the Banana Stand

Funko sent over some new images of upcoming pop vinyl figures in there Pop! Television line.  First off, in honor of the upcoming soon-to-be-a-classic Sharknado 2: The Second One, Funko is giving us a Sharnkado Pop!.  The best thing?  It’s probably a better actor than Tara Reid *rimshot*.  Sharknado will be available in June. Next, the Bluths are back as the cast of “Arrested Development” makes its way into vinyl format.  Featuring eight regular releases and a chase figure, you can recreate your favorite AD scenes and then cruelly cancel the show because you don’t promote it properly and run it

BotCon 2014 Reveals Cybertronian Knight Ginrai

Wow. Is he ORANGE. Holy cow, my eyes are going to be seeing the afterimage for days. Normally I like the blue and orange combination (such as in Huffer) but in smaller doses. Holy crap, this is going to take some getting used to. He’s obviously decoed like Fire Guts God Ginrai, but with some blue accents for his windows and shield logo. Speaking of the shield, that does make him seem more like a knight as we know, and BotCon did tweet out that we’ll get swords in a souvenir pack, so I’m looking forward to that. Man. That’s…

Funko Reveals Rocketeer ReAction Figure and Maleficent and Hanna-Barbera Pop Vinyl Figures

Funko has sent over pictures from some of their upcoming product, and we’re happy to show them off. First, from their retro-styled ReAction line, Funko is releasing a figure based on the cult movie The Rocketeer.  Featuring a removable helmet and jetpack, this figure looks like it was made in the 70’s, which may be many years before the movie came out but fits in with the character’s comic debut in 1982.  The Rocketeer figure is available in May.

Funko Goes to Bat With Pop! MLB: Major League Baseball Mascots

The Major League Baseball season is fully underway (my beloved Milwaukee Brewers are in first place as of this writing – Go Brewers!), and Funko has unveiled new Pop! Vinyl figures for the MLB fan.  Featuring seven mascots from MLB, each has the personality of beloved (or hated*, depending on who you root for) baseball figures immortalized in the cute vinyl figure form.  These will be available in May. (* Note: We at ASM do not condone buying the figure of your rival team for use in nefarious ways.) One request, though, Funko — we need a Bernie Brewer with

Funko Unveils “Guardians of the Galaxy” Pop! Vinyl Figures and Wacky Wobblers

I admit it; I know next to nothing about the Guardians of the Galaxy, other than the fact that they’ve got a gun-toting raccoon who has anger issues.  (That pretty much seals the deal for me, actually.)  Thankfully, Funko is here to help me and those like me get to know the characters better.  They’re releasing new vinyl figures in their Pop! Marvel line as well as Wacky Wobblers, all of which will be available by the time their movie hits theaters on August 1st. Because we’ve got a lot of pictures, I’m putting them all after the jump.

Funko Shows Off New Fabrikations

As if you weren’t addicted to Funkos Pop! Vinyl already, now they have to create new cute stuff for you to get addicted to.  (Which is why we love Funko so very, very much.) Funko is introducting new Fabrikations, 6-inch soft-sculpted figures.  Filled with a dense foam and weighted to be able to stand on a variety of surfaces, these Fabrikations have rotating heads and vinyl accessories.  To start off this line, Funko release pictures of Yoda and Boba Fett from Star Wars, Batman and Harley Quinn from DC Comics, and Deadpool from Marvel Comics.  These are slated to arrive in June.  Check the pics below.

BotCon Reveals 2014 Figure – Decepticon Pirate Scorponok with Headmaster Olin Zarak

Well, to quote a spinach-eating sailor man, blow me down.  Or as I tweeted, Nobody expects 1) the unexpected; 2) the Spanish Inquisition; 3) a new Headmaster figure in 2014. http://t.co/FCDSeLDZfa @BotCon — ASM (@ASMzine) April 3, 2014 I’ve lamented that we weren’t getting Nightbeat as a Headmaster later this year.  I’ve wondered if we’d ever get a Headmaster figure again.  Looks like BotCon has answered my mostly-unheard request, because lo and behold, they just showed off Decepticon Pirate Scorponok with Headmaster Olin Zarak. Look at him.  Look at how glorious he is.  LOOK AT THAT HEAD.  It’s like it’s

BotCon Reveals the Third 2014 Exclusive – Cybertronian Knight Devcon!

So, although I haven’t talked about the previous two exclusives (but I will soon), I figure that should change with the third reveal for BotCon 2014 – Devcon, the Cybertronian Knight! Some fans have been waiting for a Devcon toy for almost 30 years.  We almost had him twice — he was a potential toy for BotCon 2002 (a race car)and if 3H had kept the BotCon license, we might have had him for BotCon 2005 or later (a remold of Energon Slugslinger). They say anticipation makes the heart grow fonder.  I don’t know about that, but at least in
