Hasbro has responded with answers to ASM’s questions! Read on for the info!
- Over the years, Hasbro has covered much the Star Wars universe —
things that we thought would never get made suddenly are (Willrow
Hood, anyone?) Ignoring the Tonnika Sisters (because that story is
pretty well known), is there any toy or character (or characters) that
you’ve wanted to do but Lucasfilm has rejected? We’re thinking
something along the lines of good old Willrow — seemingly crazy
except that LFL said “No” instead of “Yes”.There have been a couple figures we wanted to do, but have been precluded
from doing. At the top of the list would be Tyvokka, or Lowbacca.
Perhaps one day the opportunity will open up for these EU characters, but
until then, they remain on the no-can-do list. - After Master Replicas lost the prop replica license, Hasbro picked
up the Force FX lightsaber line. Since these are premium format
items, there have to be different engineering processes and thought
processes used in improving and expanding the line. But what
ideas/processes/concepts have Hasbro team members been able to apply
from making the toys (action figures and role play weapons) to the
Force FX line, and do you expect to see this line expand much as the
role play has expanded into multiple clone blasters and dual-bladed
lightsabers? The lines are very different, and there hasn’t been much cross-over
thinking between them. We of course have continued producing the
double-bladed (optional) Darth Maul saber and the recently-released Asajj
Ventress saber also has dual-blade potential. We have not yet explored
clone blasters. However, great new news is on the horizon. Look for the
latest updates to the FX Lightsaber line at Toy Fair in a couple weeks!
